One wild family serving up content that hits like homemade chicken noodle soup.

Hey! Courtney here. This is how it happened. In March 2020, the world changed. Our three boys, like so many children across the world, came home. They came home to learn, to play, to rest, and to eat every available crumb in our pantry. With activities canceled, and boredom thick, I downloaded TikTok. Our pre-teen had heard of this app, and convinced me to try it out. Try it we did, finding a community of families passing the time together, online. We also found creatives and dancers, spreading hope and joy through their art.

Dance and music have been a part of our children’s lives since they were young. Josh is a professional musician, and I grew up as a dancer. Twenty three years of my life were learning how to express myself through movement and melody.

So, in an attempt to get my children off their iPads and back into consciousness, I started to teach them TikTok dance trends. They were simple at first, and we learned together. It would take us days to master a dance, but we kept showing up to move our bodies. When the boys felt confident, I recorded with their permission and shared our dances on Instagram and TikTok.

The rest, well as you know how it goes, is history. Those first videos took off and soon a community of our own blossomed online, gathering to share in a love of dance, togetherness and goodness. We are still dancing, when we can, and enjoying creating videos that infuse joy into people’s days.

Now, three years later, I see those dog days of quarantine as an unknowing gift. Those days together changed our family. They changed us communally and globally and I personally learned so much about what I value in my life and what holds us together.

I hope when you watch our videos, it encourages you to gather with those you love, in whatever way is unique to you. Of course, we hope you dance. Alone, or bringing the worm to the dance floor, it works. Dance for you and dance like yourself. The world has enough other people. It needs you. We will see you out there.
